Clinical Science Liaison
The Clinical Science Liaison (CSL) is responsible for field support of NICO’s Professional Education and Clinical Affairs initiatives. The primary focus of the CSL is to work independently and as part of a cross functional team on the implementation of NICO’s education and training strategy to successfully execute assigned initiatives. The incumbant must exhibit the ability to assess and respond to clinical information, understand scientific/medical concepts and present highly clinical, scientific and professional disease state information. Specifically, the person will be responsible for educating and relationship building with neuro critical care, stroke neurology, stroke teams, key hospital personnel, neurosurgery and professional organizations on clinical trial results (clinical, economic, and operational outcomes), the scientific application of evidence, and the development and implementation of protocols, etc.

Responsibilities
- The Clinical Science Liaison (CSL) will be responsible for providing non-promotional scientific, educational, training and research support for NICO Corporation products in the respective geography
- The CSL identifies, establishes, and maintains collaborative, long-term relationships with key opinion leaders (KOL), customers, investigators, and institutions strategic to appropriate product development and use. Increases NICO’s visibility with current and future industry leaders
- The CSL works with KOL’s to develop as speakers and identifies true KOL’s each year • Enhances clinical/scientific knowledge of customers and colleagues through evidenced-based education and appropriate scientific exchange
- Responds to unsolicited requests for medical information associated with supported products and disease state areas
- Provides effective clinical presentations to internal and external audiences and tailors presentations to meet specific needs of the audience (appropriate response to unsolicited requests)
- The CSL serves as the disease state and clinical expert for external clients and home office personnel. The incumbent is also responsible for assisting in the ongoing updating of the clinical presentations
- Interactions will be with a wide range of external thought leaders such as physicians and allied healthcare professionals to provide appropriate scientific exchange (fair-balanced scientific and disease state information) on behalf of NICO
- Identifies potential opportunities with leading researchers in the field as consultants and for future research projects
- Effectively develops and manages demand generation and clinical awareness aspects of regional account development plan
- Evaluates and administers external requests for research, training and continuing medical education
- Maintains clinical expertise through aggressive education, including attendance at relevant symposium, scientific workshops, preceptorships, and review of key journals
- Works corroboratively with alliance partners to provide clinical and scientific education on clinical applications, programs and issues
- Interact as a field expert with other functional areas of the company to develop a thorough exchange of planning information between customers and these business areas
- Interact as a consulting expert with customers to assist in the development of pathways/protocols to improve clinical practice
- Interact effectively with NICO partners when necessary to support the goals of company business
- Adheres to regulatory and compliance guidelines and company policies in all aspects of scientific dissemination of information to include responses to unsolicited requests for medical information
- The incumbent is responsible for representing the organization in a professional manner; for monitoring processes and procedures; and suggesting amendments or improvements
- Involved in process improvements initiatives as directed by Director
Hard Skills
- Master’s degree desired
- 3-5 years previous healthcare industry experience conducting medical education programs required (medical device, diagnostics, pharmaceuticals)
- 3-5 years hospital experience required in Neuro ICU or General ICU and/or relevant hospital-based function (RN, APN, PA, CS, PharmD)
- The position requires 2 to 4 days of travel per week that may include multiple overnights (1 to 3 overnights per week)
- Ability to set deadlines and prioritize work objectives and work rigorously to meet them
